Smart Women - Smart Money

State Treasurer hosts Central Illinois Smart Women Smart Money Conference

Illinois State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias invites you to sharpen your money management skills Thursday, Sept. 16 at his office’s Smart Women Smart Money conference at the Doubletree Hotel in Bloomington. Check-in begins at 8:00am and the program concludes with the luncheon.

Local speakers will share their knowledge and experience during three breakout sessions:

  • Investing is not Rocket Science -- Carol Burroughs of Forward Financial Planning, LLC
  • Credit Cards: The New Rules and You -- Michael Hodge of Chestnut Credit Counseling
  • Entrepreneurship: The Opportunities and Challenges of Being Your Own Boss -- Elizabeth Binning of the Small Business Development Center, Valerie Ross of the Springfield office of the U.S. Small Business Association, and Julie Kubsch of Specs Around Town

The plenary speaker will be Alice Wood, Founder and President of Wealth Watchers ® International. Attendees will receive a complimentary copy of her Wealth Watchers Journal to help track their daily expenses. The journals will be provided by the Financial Services Roundtable.
The SWSM conference is presented by Dollars and Sense Inc., a nonprofit organization. Major sponsors include COUNTRY Financial, State Farm and VISA.
The conference is free, but pre-registration is required.
